Do people look where you expect them to look on your website?
Just because you know where to look doesn't mean that others do - never assume anything.
The experience of the user is paramount. The better that experience, the greater chance they have of buying something, contacting you or actually doing what you want them to do.
We have seen many cases of people seeing websites and not seeing 'add to basket buttons' - fixing that sorted out some conversion rate problems!
In another case, people were never looking at the company logo.
So even though they browsed the website, they never remembered which company provided the service - so much for brand building!
